There are custom product pages, then there are advanced custom product pages 🤓

The first ones are simple to create by adding a dynamic page on the Products collection of Wix Stores app. But there are times when you need to add information about products than the fields available in the Products collection, in this case you extend that collection using reference field.

This feature needs two snippets. Paste the first snippet as you would with all other snippets on your page. In this case, your custom product page.

Then you need to paste the 2nd snippet in a new file that you will need to create in the backend directory. Follow step 1 from this article to create a new backend web module file and name it ecom.web.js

Limitation

Currently this snippet doesn't work for variants. Please drop us a message to request that feature.

how to create an advanced custom product page

1. Create a new CMS collection

2. Add a reference field to app collection Stores > Products

3. Add additional fields that you might need for your new page that are not available in products collection.

4. Create the Dyanamic List and Item pages for your new collection.

5. Congratulations! You just got rid of the ugly Wix product page 🤓
